Below is an overview of some campus activities:

Justice Education Summit: Education as a Pathway for Upward Social and Economic Mobility” featuring former NJ Governor and President of the NJ Reentry Corporation James McGreevey, NJ Senate Majority Leader Teresa Ruiz, Hudson County Commissioner William O’Dea, and others.

DEI Summer Retreat featured Rev. Al Sharpton, Founder and President of the National Action Network, and Dr. Jelani Cobb, Dean of Journalism at Columbia University. Over 250 faculty, staff, and community members from around the world participated.

HCCC Center for Teaching, Learning, and Innovation’s third annual Social Justice Symposium welcomed over 1,400 attendees convened to discuss issues surrounding racial equity and social justice. Speakers at the national virtual synchronous symposium included university presidents, authors, activists, faith leaders, and elected and appointed officials.

President Reber co-chairs the NJ Presidents’ Council (NJPC) Committee on Social Justice, which supports best practices and lessons learned in the social justice arena.
