
Activation Plan

Below is an overview of some campus activities:
- The Longest Table is a dialogue dinner hosted on campus. It is intended to encourage dialogue, build connections, and bridge differences through guided conversation over a shared meal. It is a space to deepen our understanding of the importance of generative dialogue.
- Justice on Trial Film Festival is a collection of film screenings and discussions. The event includes films about incarceration, panel discussions, Q&A, and attendees meet and interact with individuals and groups who are impacted by the (in)justice system. All with the intention to encourage dialogue, promote deeper understanding, and increase awareness of issues surrounding incarceration, encouraging advocacy.
- Cry for the Earth, Cry for the Poor: Modeling the City of Tomorrow is a 2026 Symposium. It is a multi-day event with speakers, workshops, and discussions inviting the LMU community and the public to reimagine a sustainable ‘city of tomorrow’ and explore how the university can lead by example in addressing today’s ecological crisis.”
- First Amendment Week is a keynote address/conversation event, a celebration of freedom of speech, press, religion, assembly, and petition as addressed in the First Amendment to the Constitution. It inspires the use of one’s voice, empowering the students and community to speak, ask questions, engage in dialogue, and exercise their constitutional rights responsibly.
- Advocacy Teach-In is a set of workshops and discussions focused on social justice, featuring a keynote speaker and workshops on various advocacy topics. It aims to deepen understanding of social justice issues, root causes of inequity, and current challenges affecting marginalized communities. Exposure to multiple perspectives helps broaden awareness and understanding, encouraging advocacy.
