Activation Plan
Below is an overview of some campus activities:
- For the past two years, Denison has partnered with Braver Angels to hold a debate as part of first-year orientation, with the goal being to role model constructive dialogue from a student’s very first moment on campus. The University will be building off this work in its new orientation program.
- Denison is focused on ensuring students develop the capacity to be critical thinkers and effective communicators who have the intellectual humility needed to engage in conversations across differences, especially around challenging topics. The college is exploring partnerships with several organizations, including the Constructive Dialogue Institute and Interfaith America, on how to weave some of their programs through components of Denison’s first-year experience.
- Denison will be sending two faculty members, who will focus on new first-year courses, to the College Presidents for Civic Preparedness Faculty Institute.
