Activation Plan

Below is an overview of some campus activities:

  1. January 27, 2026, CIE Table Talks gathering by the Center for Inclusive Excellence to discuss current events.
  2. January 30, 2026 Career Success: Gathering of career and faculty partners.
  3. March 3, 2026 Profile Power Up featuring Lutron Electronics: LinkedIn Workshop.
  4. September 24, 2026 Heritage Day: It’s a day dedicated to putting the school’s founding principles into practice by volunteering and connecting with the wider Bethlehem community through service

Highlights:

  1. We believe that civic commitment begins with meaningful engagement. From programs like the 1742 Experience, which immerses incoming students in community service before their first semester, to collaborative partnerships addressing local needs such as housing insecurity and environmental stewardship, Moravian University encourages students, faculty, staff, and alumni to serve with empathy, creativity, and integrity.
  2. Our senior administration serves on a wide range of nonprofit boards throughout the Greater Lehigh Valley, demonstrating our commitment to community partnership, civic leadership, and the long-term well-being of the region we call home.
  3. Heritage Day is held every fall at Moravian University closing offices and cancelling classes for a day of community service in the Lehigh Valley. Moravian has a long tradition of service established by the university’s founders.
  4. Complementing these efforts, Moravian fosters inclusive engagement that reflects its broader institutional values — cultivating respectful dialogue, ethical leadership, and a shared commitment to equity and the common good. Through these integrated experiences, Moravian University affirms that advancing civic commitments is a fundamental expression of who we are as a community and how we shape a more just and thriving society for all.
  5. Moravian University feels Community Standards are a shared campus community responsibility including respectful engagement, accountability, inclusion, and lifelong learning.
  6. Moravian University is a participant in the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge, aligning our campus with a national non-profit organization to strengthen student democratic participation and civic learning.
  7. Moravian’s Friday Forums Community Discussion Series provides structured community conversations where students, faculty, and staff engage in timely social issue discussions and campus-relevant topics as a form of civic learning and dialogue across differences.
  8. Foundations of Inclusion (faculty/staff civic capacity-building): Moravian’s Foundations of Inclusion is a monthly professional learning series for faculty, staff, and student leaders that strengthens the campus’ shared language and skills around inclusive practice, belonging, and institutional expectations, supporting a healthier climate for constructive dialogue and community responsibility.
