Activation Plan

Below is an overview of some campus activities:
- The Harvey Mudd College (HMC) Office of Civic and Community Engagement (OCCE) provides campus-level infrastructure for civic learning and engagement.
- HMC’s Civic and Democratic Engagement Action Plan was completed as a part of the ALL-IN Campus Democracy Challenge. The plan was closely aligned with student voter engagement efforts that started in fall 2020and are continuing.
- The Power of Your Voice is a semester-long civic learning and engagement series of themed workshops and/or events.
- Book Club participants read non-partisan books that raise awareness of the issues that divide us, then reflect on how we (un)consciously contribute to this polarization and learn about tools to help bridge the divide.
- A documentary series features films that deepen understanding of different identities and backgrounds and includes a post-viewing discussion.
- As a member of The Claremont Colleges, HMC faculty have offered two courses for the Inside-Out Justice Education Initiative, and HMC students engage in Claremont McKenna College’s Athenaeum speaker series.
