But just as key is the notion of civic sustainability--that in order for all to thrive as a society, it is crucial that we are adept at communicating, advocating, and acting across our differences for the common good.

- Luther‘s recently implemented general education curriculum has added a requirement focused on social and environmental justice.
- The college created a Civic Sustainability Initiative in which a Luther organization partners with a community organization in our town to address issues of mutual concern.
