Activation Plan

Below is an overview of some campus activities:

For the 2025–2026 academic year, the Division of Student Affairs and campus partners have implemented several initiatives designed to promote free expression, civic engagement, dialogue, and student leadership development:

  1. Cookies with Cowley – A recurring campus dialogue series that provides students with direct access to the University President in an informal setting. Students engage in open discussions on campus issues, share perspectives, and practice civil discourse across differing viewpoints.
  2. Student Government Association (SGA) Civic Engagement Initiatives – Student Government has expanded voter engagement efforts through voter registration campaigns, educational programming on civic participation, social media awareness initiatives, and transportation support to polling locations to encourage democratic participation.
  3. President’s Roundtable and Student Leadership Forums – Regular forums bring together student leaders from diverse organizations to discuss campus priorities, community concerns, and institutional decision-making processes. These sessions cultivate leadership skills, advocacy, and constructive dialogue.
  4. Intercultural Student Engagement Center (ISEC) Dialogue Programs – The ISEC hosts educational programs and facilitated conversations that encourage students to explore differing perspectives, engage across identities, and build skills related to respectful expression and community engagement.
  5. Leadership Development Through the Follett Student Leadership Center – The Center provides workshops, leadership conferences, and student-led programs focused on ethical leadership, civic responsibility, community engagement, and effective communication, helping students develop the skills necessary to participate thoughtfully in a diverse democratic society.

Collectively, these initiatives create opportunities for students to engage in meaningful dialogue, practice free expression, strengthen civic competencies, and contribute positively to the university and broader community.
