Teaching the skills to address this challenge aligns with our mission of preparing our students to make meaningful change in the world.

Below is an overview of some campus activities:

  • The Kathryn Wasserman Davis Collaborative in Conflict Transformation serves as an incubator for research, teaching, and student experiences to address divisiveness in society. Working with more than 100 partner institutions in the United States and around the world, Middlebury is working to embed principles and practices of conflict transformation in the liberal arts from high school to graduate school.
  • Middlebury also hosts a robust set of programs in its democracy initiatives at both the undergraduate and the graduate levels. The College is mobilizing students to be active participants and ready stewards of democracy through education, access, and organizing.
