Below is an overview of some campus activities:
- Constructive Dialogue Institute Perspectives Course integrated into First Year Experience seminars
- Braver Angels Debate planned for the spring semester
- Weber State Votes – student-led voter engagement campaign for municipal elections this year
- Hosting middle school civics competitions: Civics Bee, We The People, Mock Trials
- Hosting Youth Policy Summit for college students and recently graduated college students
Highlights:
- Weber State University has been recognized every year as a Voter Friendly Campus and has won a Bronze or Silver Award for Voter Turnout in every national election since the awards were created.
- Marina Paul, our Weber State Votes student leader, was recognized as the national Newman Civics Fellow this year.
- We have a robust Weber State Votes program as well as a robust Weber State Talks program – focusing on both the behaviors of civic engagement as well as the dispositions of civic empathy.
