Below is an overview of some campus activities:

  • Constitution Day & Voter Registration Drives: Promote democratic participation through campus-wide voter registration and educational events.
  • Cultural Experience Festival: Celebrate Brooklyn’s cultural diversity with performances, food, and dialogue sessions to foster inclusion.
  • L.E.A.D. for Change Student Retreat: Three-day leadership retreat to build collaboration and civic responsibility among student leaders.
  • NYPIRG Democracy & Social Justice Campaigns: Brooklyn College’s NYPIRG chapter leads advocacy on voting rights, environmental justice, and higher education funding. Activities include:
    1. Democracy Campaign: Daily voter registration and education efforts.
    2.
    Environmental Justice Advocacy: Push for enforcement of Local Law 97 and climate-friendly policies.
    3.
    Community Support: “Trick or Eat” food drive and free goods store for students in need.
  • Constructive Dialogue Institute Partnership: Brooklyn College participates in CUNY’s system-wide initiative with CDI to foster constructive dialogue across differences. Activities include: 
    1. Perspectives Online Learning Program: Equips students with skills for respectful, solution-oriented conversations.
    2. Dialogue Facilitation Training: Prepares student leaders, faculty and staff to lead challenging conversations and promote campus belonging.
