Below is an overview of some campus activities:
- Fall 2025 Community Engagement Symposium
The Community Engagement Center (CEC) will host a symposium on December 5, 2025, where students present community-based research and projects tied to civic and social issues. - Civic Engagement through “The People’s Pitzer”
Under the CEC’s “The People’s Pitzer,” students will engage in letter-writing to elected officials, policy advocacy, and organizing around voting and legislation. - Service-Learning & Community Partnerships
Through the CEC, students continue to complete community-engaged learning hours and partner with local organizations, supporting their civic development and free-expression skillsets. - Workshop with Constructive Dialogue Institute (CDI) in January 2026 for student leaders on campus to continue building on and improving skills in this area.
Highlights:
Pitzer has consistently been ranked among the “Top 5 best colleges” for student government and “student activism” in the U.S., reflecting its strong orientation toward civic engagement and expression. The College ensures every student participates in significant community-based learning and community-engagement activities, both in and out of the classroom. Praxis requirements for all studentsare embedded into the academic program and curriculum. Social Responsibility, Intercultural Understanding, and Student Engagement are core values of the College.
