Activation Plan
Below is an overview of some campus activities:
- Elon’s Active Citizen Series is designed to cultivate the next generation of informed leaders who will help strengthen communities and shape our democracy. This series, which includes events like “Inside Town Hall” with local elected officials, allows students to gain a deeper understanding of how government works and to develop the necessary skills to engage in civil discourse across political divides.
- The Faculty Fellow for Civic Engagement provides time and financial support for a member of the University faculty to provide this important leadership. Professor Carrie Eaves, the 2024 Fellow, is working with campus partners to prepare for the upcoming elections to encourage student engagement and participation.
- The University also partners with local agencies to host local candidate forums to raise awareness of the electorate.
