Below is an overview of some campus activities:
- Voter Outreach and Turnout
MC Votes is a cross-functional, cross-divisional team focused on voter turnout and outreach. The team hosts voter information tables, runs voter outreach workshops, and supports a group of student ambassadors who visit classrooms to talk with peers about voting. MC Votes builds excitement around voting through events like Party to the Polls. The team earned the 2026 ALL IN Highly Established Action Plan seal. Three Montgomery College campuses host ballot boxes. - Integration of Civic Engagement and Outreach Events
This effort connects civic engagement and outreach events directly to coursework and campus programming. Faculty embed civic content into classes, so students link academic learning to real community action, giving students more chances to build social awareness and communication skills. - Civic Engagement and Awareness
Faculty and staff build students’ civic literacy step by step. Students develop foundational knowledge, broaden it into civic awareness, and act on it through service learning, course-connected simulations, and experiential learning. Visits to civic institutions connect students directly with democracy in action. College events highlight the link between academics and civic action. - Deliberative Dialogue
Montgomery College employees trained in dialogue facilitation host several types of dialogue across the College. Constructive dialogues bring students, staff, and faculty together. Deliberative dialogues take place in classrooms and engage students in reasoned debate around policy alternatives. Racial healing circles create space for reflection and connection.
