College Presidents for Civic Preparedness is a great community for presidents, faculty, and institutions to share promising practices and ideas with each other. That’s what we need to be doing in higher education. We don’t all have to reinvent the wheel.

Below is an overview of some campus activities:
- The Engaging in Better Conversations Program aims to enhance civic dialogue and dialogue across diverse perspectives. Through this program, students develop skills in active listening, productive communication, and problem-solving, ultimately fostering common ground and collaborative solutions.
- This Fall, JMU will launch the Civic Leadership Minor program with all eight academic colleges. This includes a Civic Science and Technology track, with courses such as “Robots for Humanity.”
- In addition, JMU will be sending faculty members to the College Presidents for Civic Preparedness Faculty Institute.
