College and University Presidents Unite to Inspire Graduates to Lead
From Campus to Community is a national campaign from College Presidents for Civic Preparedness. Presidents from seventy diverse institutions across the country are weaving shared themes of civil discourse and democratic engagement into their commencement speeches to inspire graduates to lead with empathy, engage across differences, and think critically in a polarized world.
Over the past year, higher education has faced mounting attacks on academic freedom, institutional autonomy, and its broader civic mission. These pressures threaten not only colleges and universities, but the democratic and economic future of the nation.
From Campus to Community pushes back by reminding graduates—and the public—why college matters: not just to launch careers, but to prepare citizens equipped to meet today’s urgent challenges.
