Macaulay Honors College

The City Nature Challenge brings New Yorkers together to explore, document, and better understand the biodiversity found across the five boroughs. Led by Macaulay Honors College at CUNY in partnership with local parks, gardens, libraries, community organizations, and conservation groups, the initiative invites residents to contribute observations that support scientific research and environmental conservation. By turning everyday discoveries into valuable data, the challenge strengthens community engagement, advances urban biodiversity research, and inspires New Yorkers to become active stewards of their local environment.
