Oakland University

The Election Engagement Initiative at Oakland University connects students with local communities to strengthen civic participation and support the administration of elections. In partnership with Pontiac, Auburn Hills, and Rochester Hills, students serve as poll workers and election assistants, helping expand local capacity while gaining firsthand experience with the democratic process. By combining civic engagement with experiential learning, the initiative prepares students for active citizenship while supporting safe, accessible, and well-run elections in their communities.
