Rollins College

The Math in Action program at Rollins College connects students with local nonprofit organizations to apply data and problem-solving skills to real community challenges. In partnership with United Against Poverty Orlando, students developed a mathematical model to help optimize the nonprofit’s Mobile Prosperity Project, expanding access to fresh food in Central Florida neighborhoods affected by food insecurity. By combining academic expertise with community partnership, the program helps strengthen local organizations while preparing students to use their knowledge to create meaningful change.
